Seasonal Businesses

Certain seasons and holidays bring about two opposite, yet interconnected phenomena: the transportation of funds from one person’s pocket to another one’s cash register. While it is practically impossible to never be the consumer; the smart person would of course, prefer to be the latter instead of the former.

Why not? For instance, if the holiday season provides for a great excuse and opportunity for people to part with their money, why not be at the receiving end? During Christmas, it would be a great time to make crafts and trinkets perfect as decorations and accessories or extra special greeting cards. One could also make a lot from baking cakes and pastries since sweets are a popular choice as presents during the holidays. When summer comes along, selling your homemade concoction as refreshments right on your front porch is an advisable enterprise. If you’re the artsy fashionista type, you could design simply beach wear are accessories using cheap yet colorful materials.

This type of business has its hassles though. One has to exert extra effort into finding out what would be a hit during a particular season. However, the most obvious disadvantage is the simple fact that the business venture could only exist as a temporary enterprise. Although this is actually an advantage for students and other persons who wish to make an extra buck during the holidays.
